Saying Goodbye

How long is long enough?  Each of us will have a different answer to this question.  I for one have always believed that a person should contribute that which they can do well, and then move on allowing someone else a chance at the job, position, or…whatever.

That is why I pushed the effort to create term limits for the IHS Board of Directors in the early nineties and wish we had term limits for members of Congress.  In my time I was President of the Arizona Hearing Aid Society (Hearing Health Providers of Arizona), The Arizona Flying Samaritans (free health care provider in Mexico), and The Little House, Inc. (non-profit real estate management), besides being a Director of Marcon Hearing Instruments, Inc., and Chairman of the AZ Licensing Committee.  I truly enjoyed all of these positions but did not see myself as owning them. As I said above, “Do your bit as well as you can, and then move on.”

So…it is time for me to move on since I do not want to start rewriting my old blogs to fill space that can be used more productively. I started in this profession in 1977 when large BTE’s were the majority of sales. Things have certainly changed and will continue to evolve in the years to come.  I’ll be interested in seeing what comes down the pike in the next five years, but only as an observer. Thank you for reading my blogs and for your comments.

HHTM has grown in readership every month since its inception and with your support will continue to grow. I hope I will have the good fortune to meet many of you in the years to come. If you are coming through Las Vegas, please give me a shout.

Shalom
