EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA – Starkey has a long history of closely partnering with hearing care professionals to provide the best care possible to those with hearing loss. This May, which is the first Better Hearing and Speech Month since the FDA created a new category for Over-the-Counter (OTC) hearing aids, Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich reflected on how hearing healthcare professionals can take advantage of OTC as a steppingstone towards greater awareness about hearing health.

This topic, along with Starkey’s latest hearing technology, Genesis AI, was discussed during the most recent episode of Starkey Sound Bites.

“With the global aging population and growing number of people we could help, we needed all-new everything,” said Brandon Sawalich. “There is not one product better than Genesis AI, and I will put that up against any product with a professional. This is a product that is worthy of the hearing professional getting out of their comfort zone. This is a product their patients deserve. And I will, from any patient fitting, guarantee that they’re going to hear better.”

The all-new Starkey Neuro Processor within Genesis AI features “the industry’s most advanced processor technology, which mimics the function of the central auditory system through a Deep Neural Network (DNN) on-chip accelerator”.

The technology is the smallest processor ever by Starkey, but also the most powerful with 6X more transistors. It is also loaded with 5X more computational memory and 10X the amount of non-volatile memory.
