EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA – Starkey is proud to be title sponsor for Flags for Fort Snelling, an annual event that places an American Flag at every headstone of Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota. Flags for Fort Snelling was created to honor fallen soldiers who passed in service of the United States of America.

Over the course of Memorial Weekend, volunteers from Starkey will fill tote bags with bundled flags, place a flag on each headstone, and then collect the flags from headstones.

“Starkey is proud to honor the American heroes who served and sacrificed all for the freedom of our country. Caring is at the core of everything we do at Starkey, and so Starkey Cares is proud to be the title sponsor of this year’s Flags for Fort Snelling Memorial Day event to honor those who dedicated their lives in service.”

–Jake Spano, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Starkey

Starkey Cares is Starkey’s public commitment to corporate social responsibility designed to bring people together under the common bond of caring for one another. It consists of three pillars: commitment to local communities in need, commitment to veterans and active-duty military, and commitment to world.

“We thank Starkey for sponsoring this year’s Flags for Fort Snelling event,” said Joanne Malmstedt, President of Flags for Fort Snelling. “Flags for Fort Snelling was started to restore the annual tradition of remembrance in honor of our fallen. Every donation, every volunteer, every sponsor makes a difference to our mission and will help us keep this important tradition alive.”
