MINNEAPOLIS—Response to this year’s Hearing Innovation Expo was so enthusiastic, said Starkey Hearing Technologies, that it will sponsor another one in January 2014.

Starkey, the largest U.S.-based hearing aid manufacturer, opened registration last week for Hearing Innovation Expo 2014, which will take place January 15-19, 2014, at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The event will be limited to 3000 independent hearing care professionals and, the company advised, space is already filling up fast.

The Expo will feature presentations on research, technology, market development, and business management. Starkey said that “world thought leaders” would offer their insights. Those interested in attending can contact a Starkey representative.

The first Hearing Innovation Expo, held in January 2012 in the same hotel-casino, drew approximately 3000 hearing care professionals. That made it this year’s second largest gathering of people in hearing care next to the American Academy of Audiology Convention. Expo 2012 featured an array of famous speakers, including President Bill Clinton and Sir Richard Branson.

Brandon Sawalich, senior vice-president at Starkey Hearing Technologies, said, “We were overwhelmed by the success of the 2012 Expo and are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this world-class, global event to our industry again. The speakers we have lined up and will be announcing soon will once again bring the best and brightest minds in business, patient care, and research together in one place.”
