Illinois cites audiologist for outstanding services

CHICAGO–Gloria Wong, AuD, received the annual award for Outstanding Audiology Services from the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Field counselors from the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) were asked to nominate audiologists who had provided outstanding services. Wong was selected for her dedication and for the quality of services provided to DRS clients.

Wong has been manager of the Audiology Clinic at the Chicago Hearing Society (CHS) since 1987. The clinic serves 1500 patients a year.

She has served on the Public Relations Committee of the Illinois Speech Language Hearing Association and on committees working to improve access for people with hearing loss to public facilities in the Chicago area.

The award presentation took place on January 30 during the annual conference of the Illinois Academy of Audiology in Chicago.
