made-for-iphone-logoCOPENHAGEN--It was all over the web this week and last: GN ReSound will be introducing the world’s first Made for iPhone hearing aid in the first quarter of 2014. So reported Reuters, followed by PC MAG.com, redorbit.com, news.softepedia.com, appleinsider.com, stockingapple.com, and well over 100 other online news outlets.

Certainly this is a big story, but it’s not really news in the sense of being new. In fact, ReSound’s “Made for iPhone” (MFi) hearing aid made its public debut in mid-October, at the 2013 Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) in Nuremburg, Germany. Days later, the Copenhagen-based manufacturer wrote about its new ReSound MFi Linx™ in a newsletter for investors, and the story was reported by a few other online publications. Among these were the Wall Street Journal and the Hearing Economics blog at HearingHealthMatters.org, where Holly Hosford-Dunn’s published a post on the subject on October 22.
