COPENHAGEN–GN ReSound, which last February became the first manufacturer to offer a hearing aid, the ReSound LiNX, that allowed wearers to stream audio directly from their Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to their hearing aid without need for a separate intermediary device, has introduced a new hearing aid app designed specifically for Apple’s latest high-tech device, the Apple Watch.

The ReSound Smart™ app, unveiled on April 15, allows Apple Watch users to control their hearing aid settings directly from the wrist. Through the app, users can set preferred volume levels, adjust treble and bass settings, change audio profiles as they move from one sound environment to another, and view at a glance details about their hearing aids.

Apple Watch users will be able to download the latest version of the ReSound Smart app (3.0.1) from the App store. The app will be compatible with the  ReSound LiNX²™ family, ReSound LiNX™ 9/7, ReSound LiNX TS™ 9/7, ReSound Enzo™ and ReSound UP Smart™

In announcing the new app, Anders Hedegaard, CEO of GN ReSound, said, “ReSound is excited to offer people simple on-the-go Smart Hearing personalization through the ReSound Smart app for Apple Watch.”
