BALLERUP, DENMARK — Headset maker Jabra, a subsidiary company of the GN Group, announced the upcoming release of what it dubs as the “most technologically advanced wireless earbuds” available: the Elite Sport.

The new Elite Sport wireless earbuds will come fully equipped with a heart rate monitor, music/stereo streaming, in-ear audio coaching with real time feedback, and stream for up to three hours on a single charge (six hours of additional charge when using the mobile carrying case). According to the news release, the devices will be fully supported by both Android and iOS devices. Sweat during a workout shouldn’t be too much of a worry with the device’s IP67 rating.

“We’ve used our R&D expertise from across the GN Group to deliver not just the most technically advanced true wireless sports earbuds, but also the most complete cord-free experience for our customers. Jabra Elite Sport is an example of an intelligent sound solution that delivers calls and music very well.”

Phone Calls, Music, Fitness Coach and More

To enhance the listening experience when taking calls, the Elite Sport utilizes two microphones within each earbud–one focused on the user’s voice, and one focusing on external noise. Using these measurement, the earbuds can help filter out the background noise during phone calls.  Furthermore, if a call comes through during a workout, voice and audio controls allow the user to handle calls hands-free.

More than just recording statistics, the Jabra Sport Life app offers updates with real time in-ear coaching based on your heart rate and fitness level.

Soon to Be Released

The new Elite Sport hearable will be competitively priced at $249.99. The new devices will be sold exclusively at Best Buy stores, beginning on October 30. According to the company, pre-orders of the devices will become available through Best Buy online in late September.
