TEL AVIV, ISRAELHumavox, an Israeli-based startup, announced that it will be partnering with Starkey Hearing Technologies to bring wireless charging capability to the next generation of hearing devices. Integrating the wireless charging technology into Starkey’s devices will allow hearing aid users to simply “drop” their devices into the charging case to recharge, regardless of orientation in the case.

The charging technology developed by Humavox will fit all styles of hearing aids, not only standard BTE or RIC styles, as well as wireless earbuds and other hearable devices.

“This partnership represents an additional step for Starkey in offering the most advanced hearing solutions available. We look forward to utilizing Humavox’s superior wireless charging technology to continue leading the hearing industry with new innovations that simplify people’s lives.” –Tim Trine, Chief Technical Officer, Starkey

Humavox’s ETERNA® hardware platform is said to wirelessly recharge batteries through use of a proprietary radio frequency (RF) technology. Because ETERNA utilizes the smallest power receiver available, it’s able to fit into some of the smallest devices, like hearing aids.

“We at Humavox are all about blending charging into everyday life so that users don’t even have to think about charging their devices,” said Omri Lachman, CEO & Co-Founder of Humavox. “This is even more critical when it comes to the hearing impaired, who have to switch out tiny batteries regularly, and are sometimes seniors who struggle with such tasks. We are excited to be partnering with one of the world’s top hearing solution manufacturers in order to solve this critical pain point and streamline charging for the hearing impaired community.”
