BONITA SPRINGS, FL—Sign up early to “rock the boat” is the message being sent out to audiologists by the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA). ADA is talking about its 2011 Convention, being held November 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs. This year’s theme is “Rock the Boat: How to Practice, Manage and Lead in Rough Waters.”

Members who register by October 4 will get a reduced rate of $625, $225 less than if they wait. Early birds will also get a better shot at being able to stay at the Hyatt Regency, where the rooms set aside for convention attendees are quickly disappearing.

To register, visit www.audiologist.org; to book a room at the convention hotel, call 239/444-1234 or go to https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventlD=3408763.

FOR THE AUTONOMOUS PRACTITIONER

ADA 2011 will feature innovative programming designed for audiologists who practice or plan to practice in an autonomous setting. The courses exemplify the organization’s commitment to providing audiologists with access to information, education, and relationships that reflect and support best clinical and business practices.

Offerings focus on four key areas:

  • Practice Development/Business Tools
  • Diagnostic/Biomedical/ Research
  • Amplification/Rehabilitation/Counseling
  • Professional/Advocacy/Legal/Ethical Issues

Preceding the convention will be a series of workshops and a Business Management Training Program. For details, contact ADA at 866/493-5544 or go to [email protected].
