NEW YORK—This week, as New York City and the rest of the nation are commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11, a Manhattan audiologist is doing his part to pay tribute to the thousands of first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero.
Dominick Servedio, AuD, is partnering with the hearing aid manufacturer Unitron, and the Feal Good Foundation to provide hearing aids and fittings to first responders who are now in need of hearing help. “These brave men and women were exposed to high levels of noise that can cause irreversible damage to the inner ear,” said Servedio.
His partnership with Unitron allowed Servedio to fit these first responders with state-of-the-art technology to help maximize their communication abilities. Once the hearing aids are programmed they will receive follow-up visits and aural rehabilitation training.
Servedio has over 24 years of experience in diagnostic audiology and amplification. His partner, Barbara Grossman, AuD, has been in practice for over 27 years, specializing in diagnostic audiology and vestibular disorders. Their office is on West 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
