WASHINGTON, DC—A newly redesigned Better Hearing Institute (BHI) web site (www.betterhearing.org/professionals/) is providing audiologists and hearing instrument specialists with easier access to a large array of resources tailored to help them promote their practices at the local level.
The number and variety of public relations tools that BHI offers have increased dramatically since 2005. Now, the enhanced web site for hearing professionals is making these tools easier to use and therefore more effective in disseminating the better hearing message to the general public.
BHI’s professionals web site will continue to focus on four core areas: hearing healthcare professional (HHP) resources, plus the physician-referral, celebrity-referral, and peer-mentoring programs. To make HHP resources easier to use, that section now contains 19 icons to click on to access the following types of resources:
• Videos (e.g., a tour of the ear)
• Instruments (e.g., MarkeTrak survey)
• Public relations campaigns (e.g., diabetes, Men’s Health Week)
• BHSM (Better Hearing and Speech Month campaigns)
• Promoting your practice (sample media clippings using BHI material designed to help hearing care practices locally)
• BHI-written PR (opinion pieces, editorials, and syndicated articles on topics such as hearing loss and income loss, hearing loss and safety)
• Tax credit legislation (resources for advocating tax credits for hearing aids)
• Best practices (hearing aid fitting protocols and papers)
