KITCHENER, ONTARIO–Jan Metzdorff, who has been in charge of Unitron’s international sales, was promoted to president, the company has announced.

Unitron, a member of the Sonova group, also reported that the technologies, service, and distribution of Sona, another Sonova company launched in 2010, have been transferred to it.

Metzdorff has been an executive in the hearing healthcare industry for 14 years, including 7 years as a leader with the Sonova Group, where he managed Phonak and Unitron brands. He directed the buildup of key markets, including Japan and the United Kingdom. Prior to becoming president of Unitron, he was vice-president of international sales for Unitron, overseeing all territories outside of North America.

SONA PRODUCTS CAN BE UPDATED IMMEDIATELY

The transfer of Sona’s technologies and service is designed to strengthen Unitron’s portfolio and service-oriented strategy, while providing Sona with access to Unitron’s worldwide distribution.

Sona offers the market’s only upgradable hearing instruments. Designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss, they are available to users in three form factors and three price-performance levels that can be immediately configured to the wearer’s preferences.
