The Hearing Loss Association of America’s (HLAA) 2015 Convention took place June 25 – 28 at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO. Approximately 1,000 educators and hearing loss advocates were in attendance.
As usual, talks and workshops addressed at the convention addressed wide ranging topics, such as employment issues for people with hearing loss, assistive technology, hearing aids and cochlear implants. Several new products were also demonstrated to those in attendance.
Another Success
According to Juliette Sterkens, AuD, one of the speakers at this year’s event, the annual HLAA convention seems to keep improving with each year.
“The HLAA annual convention seems to be getting better each year. Every meeting room, including the grand ball room was looped for the occasion, the speakers were of international caliber, the exhibitors included interesting and innovative startup companies like Transcence, Hypersound, and OTOjOY–which introduced its (hearing) LoopFinder App for iPhone and telecoil equipped Loopbuds.
Sterkens continued, “Rubbing elbows with nearly a 1,000 educated consumers who are always looking for new technology and solutions is priceless. As far as I am concerned it is the place to be for anyone who works in the hearing care field.”
