Massachusetts Eye and Ear Taps Dr. Kevin Franck as Audiology Director; RemotEAR Names Dr. Tom Powers as Partner

Kevin Franck, PhD, MBA

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS — Massachusetts Eye and Ear announced the appointment of Kevin Franck, PhD, MBA, as Director of Audiology. He will oversee the audiology department at Mass. Eye and Ear as the hospital continues to grow its clinical and hearing research programs, and he will also serve on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School Department of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Franck previously served as Head of Marketing for Bose Hear Emerging Business, a division of Bose Corporation that focused on developing hearing tools. Dr. Franck was one of three founding members of Ear Machine, a start-up funded by the National Institutes of Health before it was acquired by Bose in 2014. 

Franck holds an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a doctoral degree in hearing science from the University of Washington. In addition, Dr. Franck holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom Powers Appointed Partner by RemotEAR

LANSDALE, PENNSYLVANIA — Tele-audiology company, RemotEAR, announced the appointment of Dr Tom Powers as a partner. In his new role, Powers will be responsible for strategic accounts and product futures.

Prior to his appointment, he previously served as an industry expert and audiology consultant, he was vice-president, government services and professional relations, for Sivantos, Inc.

Dr. Powers received his BS from the State University of New York at Geneseo, and his MA and PhD in audiology from Ohio University. He is a member of several professional associations and is a past president of the American Auditory Society (AAS).
