PERTH, AUSTRALIA — Audiology Australia announced today that its planned 2020 conference will be postponed until later in the year. This year’s conference was originally planned for May 3-6 and included several well-known keynote speakers. The news comes just days following the American Academy of Audiology’s decision to cancel its planned 2020 conference.
Audiology Australia says that it is currently examining potential dates and will update members and attendees as the information becomes available.
The following message was sent out this morning to conference attendees and speakers:
In light of the recent announcements by the Federal Government regarding COVID-19 in relation to events of more than 500 people, the Audiology Australia 2020 Conference will be postponed until later in the year. We are currently examining potential dates and further information will be available as soon as possible.
We would like to thank you for your professionalism and patience as we’ve worked through a range of factors related to member services and operations to ensure we can best support you as you care for your clients and patients.
The health and safety of our members, their families and clients is paramount and we are currently following the advice of state and federal health departments and are monitoring the situation for new developments daily and making operational decisions in accordance with that information.
