MILAN, ITALY – Amplifon has secured two new sustainability-linked loans totaling €250 million (~$264M USD) to support its growth and innovation efforts over the next five years.

The first loan, worth €200 million (~$211M USD), is provided by UniCredit and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP). It is split into two parts: €100 million ($105 million) from UniCredit to support Amplifon’s business development, and another €100 million (~$105M USD) from CDP to help fund the company’s innovation projects in Italy. This builds on a previous loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) aimed at encouraging innovation across Europe.

The second loan, worth €50 million (~$53M USD), is provided by Crédit Agricole Italia with backing from SACE’s Garanzia Futuro program. This loan will help Amplifon expand its new store concept internationally, focusing on providing customers with a personalized experience through advanced visual and digital technologies, all within a sustainable store design.

“These loans are tied to specific sustainability targets within our company’s plan, which helps us incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into our overall business strategy. With this new funding, Amplifon has now secured five sustainability-linked loans since 2021, totaling €850 million ($897 million). This demonstrates our commitment to creating value for our customers, employees, and partners.”

–Amplifon CEO, Enrico Vita

The loans include specific sustainability goals, and if Amplifon meets these goals, the terms of the loans become even more favorable. This new funding helps Amplifon maintain strong financial health by providing more funds, expanding its sources of funding, and allowing for more time to repay these loans.

White & Case served as the legal advisor for Amplifon, while Clifford Chance represented the financial institutions in these agreements.
