Hearing Health and Technology Matters (HHTM) recently conducted a survey of practice patterns among audiologists in the US. The 30-question survey, completed by 186 audiologists, was divided into two parts: clinical procedures and practice workflow.
Several questions related to how various clinical procedures such as word recognition testing, and use of real ear measures are conducted in the clinic were asked in Part 1. Part 2 of the survey queried respondents about the use of remote/virtual testing, use of assistants and follow-up care for hearing aid fittings. Results were compared to previous practice patterns surveys and showed little change in the widespread use of best-practices.
The survey was published in the latest issue of Audiology Practices, which can be accessed here.
