VANCOUVER, WA & BOISE, ID — Audigy and Auris Practice Solutions have announced a strategic partnership designed to help alleviate the ongoing national shortage of audiologists. The collaboration will expand the reach of MaestroAuD™, a hybrid in-clinic and remote care model developed by Auris Practice Solutions, across ENT and private audiology practices in the U.S.
The alliance seeks to support clinics struggling to maintain patient care capacity by improving clinical efficiency and reducing the burdens associated with recruiting and retaining full-time, on-site audiologists.
Audiology Workforce Pressures Grow
ENT and audiology clinics are facing increasing strain due to workforce shortages:
- Approximately 760 audiologists enter the workforce annually, while around 560 exit, resulting in a net gain of only 200 professionals per year
- Demand for services is growing more than twice as fast as the output of audiology graduates
- Fewer than 30% of new audiologists pursue careers in ENT or private practice settings
- Many clinics report operating at break-even or loss due to rising costs, lower reimbursements, and staffing limitations
In addition to clinical duties, audiologists are often tasked with administrative work, such as warranty management, inventory control, and recall coordination, further limiting their productivity.
“This is a national issue. Practices tell us every day that they’re struggling to find and retain audiologists. For many, it’s brought growth to a halt. This solution is past due — and now, with MaestroAuD™, ENT and audiology clinics finally have the scalable support they need.”
–Kim Gilmore, President of Audigy
Expanding Access Through Remote-Enabled Care
MaestroAuD™ connects licensed audiologists to clinics through a remote-enabled platform. Patients continue to visit the clinic in person, while the audiologist works remotely with support from on-site medical assistants or audiology technicians. The model is intended to enable audiologists to work at the top of their license while also offering flexible, part-time work options.
Through the new partnership, Audigy will help scale the MaestroAuD™ model across its national network of ENT and audiology providers.
Key features of the MaestroAuD™ model include:
- 100% of the audiologist’s time is focused on billable services
- Reduced need for recruitment or clinician relocation
- Full support for diagnostics and hearing aid services
- EMR integration and workflow alignment
- 4–6 week onboarding period with clinical and operational training
“MaestroAuD™ was designed to solve the capacity ceiling ENT and audiology practices have hit across the country,” said J. Connon Samuel, CEO and Co-Founder of Auris Practice Solutions. “We’ve combined high-caliber clinical care with a delivery model that is scalable, efficient, and financially sustainable.”
“We built MaestroAuD™ to support audiologists working at the top of their license — and ENT and audiology practices that need real solutions, not temporary fixes,” added Jacquie Elcox, President and Co-Founder of Auris. “This partnership with Audigy allows us to bring that support to the practices who need it most, right now.”
Looking Ahead
Both organizations describe the partnership as a step toward long-term transformation in audiology care delivery. By integrating hybrid staffing models and new clinical strategies, the alliance aims to ease workforce pressures while maintaining quality and continuity of care.
“We’re not just reacting to a shortage — we’re reshaping how audiology is delivered at scale,” said Gilmore. “ENT and private practices alike will finally have the tools to grow, even when the workforce can’t.”
