HANOVER, GERMANY — The European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) has opened submissions for the EUHA Sponsorship Award 2026, inviting entries from the fields of audiology, hearing aid fitting, and customer benefit research through 15 August 2026. Now in its 15th year, the award has become a well-established part of the hearing care industry’s professional calendar.
The EUHA Sponsorship Award is designed to support early-career researchers and students whose academic work demonstrates practical relevance to hearing care. Eligible submissions include diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses completed within the past 24 months, provided they are not subject to confidentiality restrictions. Applicants do not need to be hearing care professionals to participate.
“The aim of the EUHA Sponsorship Award is to promote young talent in the industry and give up-and-coming scientists a platform to present their industry-relevant research and studies,” explains Eva Keil-Becker. She is Chairwoman of the EUHA Sponsorship Award jury and EUHA Vice President and helped to establish the sponsorship award.
The jury evaluates submissions based on their relevance to the rehabilitation of auditory communication disorders, development potential, and practical applicability within the hearing aid industry. Particular emphasis is placed on audiological relevance, applicability to hearing aid fitting and customer service, originality, and the ability to clearly present research findings.
Up to three theses may be awarded prize money, with €3,000 awarded for first place, €2,000 for second place, and €1,000 for third place. In addition to the financial award, winners are given the opportunity to present their research at the EUHA Congress, the world’s largest hearing care event.
The award ceremony will take place during the Knowledge Symposium on the first day of the congress.

The EUHA Sponsorship Award 2026 will be presented on 14 October 2026 during the 70th International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians in Hannover. Award recipients will present their work in person, allowing industry professionals to engage directly with current research and emerging ideas.
In addition, an article on each award-winning research topic will be published in the specialist journal Hörprofil, and the work will also be featured on the EUHA website. According to the organization, the award has previously served as a career stepping stone for recipients who have gone on to academic, professional, and industry leadership roles.
To apply, candidates must submit a two-page abstract outlining the proposition, methodology, results, and key conclusions of their work, along with an electronic copy of the thesis and a curriculum vitae. Submissions must be received by 15 August 2026.
