SOMERSET, NEW JERSEY – On Saturday, December 7th, Oticon Government Services, alongside Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) and various government and military officials, participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Marine Sgt. Craig Brady’s newly-built, specially adapted custom home in Holden, Massachusetts.

Since 2017, Oticon Government Services has proudly supported HFOT’s mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. At the celebration, Mike Marcinek, Vice President and GM for Oticon Government Services and Pediatrics, presented Sgt. Brady and his family with a gift card to help furnish their new home. This was in addition to Oticon’s $5,000 donation to Homes For Our Troops.

“We are honored to collaborate with Homes For Our Troops to support the recovery and rebuilding of lives for American Veterans like Sgt. Brady. Every day, through Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies, Oticon provides life-changing hearing technology that enhances hearing and quality of life for Veterans and active-duty military personnel. Events like today’s celebration give our team an opportunity to show our deep appreciation and support for the sacrifices made by our nation’s Veterans.”

–Mike Marcinek, Oticon Vice President of Government Services

After the Key Ceremony event concluded, the Brady family graciously invited visitors to explore their new home. In 2010, during his third combat deployment, Sgt. Brady was conducting a battle damage assessment with the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, when he was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Afghanistan. He lost his right leg below the knee and sustained injuries to his back and left forearm. Today, Sgt. Brady plays wheelchair lacrosse and coaches sled hockey.

About Homes For Our Troops

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans. For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
