LYNGE, DENMARK — Widex has today introduced Widex Allure AI RIC with Clarity Boost, a new hearing aid designed to preserve natural sound quality during everyday listening while providing additional AI-driven support in challenging noise.

The new device builds on the existing Widex Allure platform by adding a dedicated AI co-processor that wearers can activate when they want added clarity in noisy listening situations.

Alongside the device launch, Widex also introduced Compass Cloud 2.0, an updated version of its cloud-based fitting software platform for hearing care professionals.

According to Widex, the Allure AI RIC reflects a more selective approach to artificial intelligence in hearing technology. Rather than relying on continuous AI processing, the device maintains the Widex foundation of natural sound and introduces AI support when additional speech clarity is needed.

“Widex Allure AI RIC resolves one of the most persistent challenges in hearing care – improving speech in noise without disrupting the natural sound quality that patients demand”

–Ngozi Amobi, Head of Widex

“We’ve taken a different approach, preserving natural sound as the foundation and introducing AI processing only when it adds value. Combined with Compass Cloud 2.0, we’re delivering hearing care professionals the tools they need to support more fine-tuning possibilities in follow up visits and deliver natural sound for everyday listening with targeted clarity in noise when it matters most.”

Balancing Music Fidelity and Speech in Noise

The launch also comes at a time when many adults entering hearing care bring high expectations for both communication performance and music enjoyment.

For patients who regularly attend concerts, listen critically to music, or value high-fidelity sound, hearing technology must increasingly support both speech understanding and a satisfying listening experience.

“The number of people attending live music events has risen steadily over time. “As concert enthusiasts enter the period of their lives where hearing care is needed, their desire for the best live music experience will not diminish. Yet they will not want to sacrifice speech in noise performance. The Allure AI RIC promises to meet both needs by fusing modern AI technology to Widex’s signature sound.”

Natural Sound with Optional AI Enhancement

At its foundation, the Allure platform is powered by the W1 chip and Precision Hearing Technology, which Widex says are designed to deliver a natural balance of focus and awareness. The new Allure AI RIC adds a dual-chip architecture with a dedicated AI co-processor for the Clarity Boost program.

Clinical studies cited by Widex show that 95% of wearers reported improved speech in noise, while 97% described the sound as natural and clear. The company also reports that Allure AI RIC with Clarity Boost delivers up to 6 dB improvement in output signal-to-noise ratio compared with leading competitors using AI-based denoising in realistic listening environments.

When listening environments become more complex, Clarity Boost is designed to provide added noise management while maintaining awareness of surrounding sounds. According to Widex, the feature uses an audio-specific neural network intended to preserve sound quality while improving clarity in difficult environments.

The device offers up to 32 hours of use, including AI use or streaming, and supports connectivity options including Made for iPhone, ASHA, LE Audio, telecoil functionality, and hands-free communication. Widex also describes the device as Auracast-ready.

Compass Cloud 2.0 Expands Fitting Tools

Widex also introduced Compass Cloud 2.0, the latest version of its cloud-based fitting platform. The update is intended to improve first fits, follow-up visits, user experience, and ongoing fitting performance for clinicians.

Developed with input from hearing care professionals, Compass Cloud 2.0 includes a refined fitting approach informed by real-world fitting data, along with additional personalization tools designed to support first-fit acceptance and follow-up precision.

Updates include an improved Adaptation Manager, SmartSpeak spoken status updates, expanded Data Logging and Sound Class Adjustments, and Transfer Settings to simplify configuration across fittings. Widex reports that Compass Cloud has maintained more than 99.9% uptime, with HCP satisfaction reaching 4 out of 5.

“Compass Cloud 2.0, together with Allure AI RIC, expands what’s possible in hearing care by connecting a cloud-based fitting approach with a device designed around natural sound and on-demand AI support,” concluded Amobi.

“It enables HCPs to deliver efficient, accurate first fits and refine them over time with greater precision, while ensuring their patients experience natural sound for everyday listening with targeted clarity in noise when it’s needed. Together, this defines a new standard in hearing care – uniting fitting accuracy with natural sound and on-demand clarity in noise.”

Additional Context from Copenhagen Demonstration

During a recent visit to WSA headquarters in Copenhagen, Andrew Bellavia spent several days testing the new Allure AI RIC and speaking with Widex leadership about the company’s latest developments in AI processing, sound preference research, Auracast connectivity, and Compass Cloud 2.0.

Bellavia also shared early impressions from using the devices in real-world listening environments, including live music venues and challenging restaurant settings, where he explored the balance between Widex’s traditional focus on natural sound and the platform’s new AI-driven clarity features.
