DUBLIN, IRELAND — Neuromod Devices has expanded its senior commercial leadership team with the appointment of Joe Ghiz as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Shannon Basham as Vice President of Channel Development.
The appointments come as Neuromod works to expand access to Lenire, its bimodal neuromodulation treatment for tinnitus, through ENT and audiology practices in the United States and other markets.
Ghiz will join Neuromod’s senior management team and lead the company’s global commercial function, bringing experience in developing and scaling new treatment categories across the dental, orthodontic, and vision care markets.
Joe Ghiz Named Chief Commercial Officer
Ghiz joins Neuromod from Align Technology, the company behind Invisalign. During his tenure, he held several global commercial leadership positions and served as General Manager of Sales, working on initiatives aimed at expanding adoption of clear aligner treatment and developing new commercial models for orthodontic practices.
Before joining Align Technology, Ghiz spent more than a decade at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in leadership roles spanning sales, marketing, and business development. His work there included initiatives involving independent optometry practices and the ACUVUE® contact lens business.
Neuromod said Ghiz’s experience developing commercial models within dental and orthodontic practices will support the company’s efforts to expand the use of Lenire within ENT and audiology practices.
“We are delighted to welcome Joe Ghiz to Neuromod at a pivotal moment where robust clinical evidence, global regulatory approval, and broad commercial adoption has positioned our company for rapid scaling to address the needs of 740 million tinnitus sufferers worldwide. Mr. Ghiz brings experience from Align Technology, where he helped the company create a new category of aligner, which reshaped how orthodontists and dentists practice and built a $10 billion company as a result.”
— Dr. Ross O’Neill, CEO, Neuromod Devices
Commenting on his appointment, Ghiz said he sees an opportunity to expand Lenire’s reach among clinicians and patients.
“I’m excited to join Neuromod at such an important time in the company’s growth. Lenire has already transformed the lives of tens of thousands of tinnitus patients and has the potential to revolutionize tinnitus care as a whole. I look forward to working with Neuromod’s leadership team to deliver the commercial strategy required to reach more clinicians and give millions of patients access to life-changing care.”
— Joe Ghiz, Chief Commercial Officer, Neuromod Devices
Shannon Basham Joins as VP of Channel Development
Neuromod has also appointed Shannon Basham as Vice President of Channel Development. Basham brings more than 20 years of hearing care industry experience and most recently served as Senior Director of Audiology and Education for Sonova in the United States.
In that role, Basham served as the market-facing head of audiology for the Phonak and Unitron wholesale businesses, overseeing strategy for the company’s audiology and clinical education departments.
She previously spent approximately a decade as Director of Clinical Training for Phonak, where she was responsible for training and educational programs supporting the company’s product portfolio and worked with marketing, clinical, and sales teams.
Earlier in her career, Basham served as Clinical Training Manager at InSound Medical. There, she managed the company’s national training team and educational content and worked with other departments on the commercialization and expansion of the Lyric hearing aid. InSound Medical was subsequently acquired by Sonova.
Expanding Access to Lenire
The additions to Neuromod’s commercial leadership come as the company continues to expand access to Lenire internationally and through hearing care and ENT practices.

Lenire uses bimodal neuromodulation, combining audio stimulation delivered through headphones with mild electrical stimulation to the surface of the tongue through Neuromod’s proprietary Tonguetip® device. Treatment is prescribed by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional following an audiological assessment and is then completed by the patient at home.
Lenire has CE-mark certification and received a De Novo grant from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). According to Neuromod, the device is currently available in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia and is also offered as a treatment option through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
