STÄFA, SWITZERLAND — Sonova has acquired Høreservice Danmark, a rapidly growing Danish hearing care provider built around a fully mobile model that brings hearing testing, counseling, and hearing aid services directly to patients in their homes.

Danish corporate records show that Sonova AG became the 100% owner of Høreservice Danmark effective September 1, 2026. Jan Peter Rekling was also appointed chairman of the company’s board, while founder Steffen Møller Pedersen remains CEO and joined the board following the transaction.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 2022, Høreservice Danmark has grown without relying on a traditional brick-and-mortar clinic network. Instead, trained audiologists travel to patients throughout Denmark, providing hearing evaluations, counseling, and hearing aid fittings in the home.

According to DealHaus, which served as exclusive corporate finance adviser to Høreservice Danmark’s owners, the company has grown to more than 25 mobile clinics and more than 50 employees, becoming Denmark’s largest hearing clinic not owned by a hearing aid manufacturer prior to the Sonova acquisition.

The model is designed to reduce the need for patients to travel to clinics and make hearing care more accessible. According to DealHaus, hearing testing and counseling — and, in many cases, hearing aid delivery — can be completed during the same home visit.

Rapid Growth Since 2022

Public financial records illustrate the company’s rapid expansion. Høreservice Danmark reported gross profit of approximately DKK 31.4 million (~$4.9M USD) in 2025, up from DKK 17.6 million (~$2.7M USD) in 2024.

Net profit increased from approximately DKK 4.9 million (~$760,000 USD) to DKK 8.4 million (~$1.3M USD) over the same period. The company averaged 38 employees during the 2025 financial year, compared with 20 in 2024.

DealHaus said the company’s owners had been seeking a strategic partner capable of supporting its next phase of growth while providing additional technology, expertise, and international scale. Pedersen will continue leading Høreservice Danmark as CEO and work with Sonova to further develop the company’s mobile care concept.

Information released in connection with the transaction also indicates that the companies intend to explore the mobile model’s potential on a broader scale, raising the possibility that elements of the approach could eventually be applied in additional markets.

Acquisition Aligns With Sonova’s Retail Growth Strategy

The transaction comes several months after Sonova outlined a renewed long-term growth strategy that places increased emphasis on expanding and transforming its hearing care retail operations.

Under its long-term growth strategy, Sonova plans to take a market-by-market approach to brands and distribution channels while expanding its retail footprint through targeted acquisitions.

The strategy, unveiled in March, centers on three priorities: driving adoption through innovation, succeeding locally through a multi-brand and multi-channel approach, and improving service and operations. Sonova also identified opportunities to deepen integration between its wholesale and retail businesses.

As part of the long-term plan, Sonova is targeting CHF 6 billion (~$6.7 billion USD) in annual revenue by fiscal 2030/31.

The Høreservice Danmark acquisition represents a somewhat different approach to retail expansion than simply adding conventional clinic locations. Its mobile model extends professional hearing care into patients’ homes, providing Sonova with an established platform for exploring alternative approaches to hearing care delivery.

Høreservice Danmark will continue operating under Pedersen’s leadership following the acquisition.
