EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA — Starkey has announced continued investment in student organizations and educational initiatives supporting the next generation of hearing healthcare professionals. According to the company, more than 1,500 students were supported through Starkey-sponsored programs and events in 2025.
Starkey remains a major industry sponsor of student organizations, including the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA), Student Academy of Doctors of Audiology (SADA), and the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
A key initiative in 2025 was the Starkey University Workshop, held in July at the company’s headquarters in Eden Prairie. The event welcomed more than 200 Au.D. students and faculty from across the United States and focused on hands-on learning experiences intended to support early career development.
The workshop included interactive sessions such as a Modifications Lab, product fittings using simulated patient scenarios, and a panel discussion featuring experienced audiologists who shared perspectives on career development and professional growth.
“Investing in students is investing in the future of our profession. We are proud to lead the industry in providing opportunities for learning, networking, and growth that empower tomorrow’s hearing health leaders.”
–Dr. Sara Burdak, Chief Audiology Officer at Starkey
In addition to the Starkey University Workshop, the company reported providing educational materials, hosting a student breakfast at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) convention, sponsoring student events at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and SAA meetings, and delivering trainings nationwide. Starkey said these efforts reached more than 1,200 students throughout the year.
Looking ahead to 2026, Starkey said it plans to expand opportunities through Starkey University programming, networking events, and additional educational resources. Dates and details for upcoming events are expected to be announced later this year.
