EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA — Starkey welcomed hundreds of audiology students from across the United States to its annual Starkey University Workshop, an educational program designed to provide future hearing care professionals with hands-on exposure to emerging technologies, clinical practices, and industry expertise.

Students representing 40 university programs participated in sessions focused on AI-powered hearing technology, hearing science, patient-centered care, clinical best practices, and the expanding role of hearing technology in supporting communication, cognition, and overall wellness.

The workshop also gave students opportunities to work with Starkey leaders and industry experts, take part in practical learning activities, and gain clinical insights intended to support their future patient care.

“As hearing technology continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, it’s essential that we support and uplift audiology students early and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to harness these innovations for the benefit of their future patients. Starkey University creates meaningful opportunities for students to learn directly from experts, experience innovation firsthand, and leave inspired and prepared to shape the future of hearing healthcare.”

Hands-On Education and Industry Exposure

In addition to classroom and interactive sessions, students toured Starkey’s global headquarters and learned more about the company’s research, engineering, and manufacturing operations.

The program was designed to connect students directly with the teams involved in developing hearing technologies while offering practical exposure to the clinical and technical considerations shaping the profession.

Starkey said the workshop reflects its broader investment in education and professional development, with the goal of helping audiology students enter the workforce prepared to support strong patient outcomes and adapt to continued changes in hearing healthcare.
