HAUPPAUGE, NEW YORK — Widex has announced that U.S. Ski Team member Estella Hassrick has joined the company as an official brand ambassador. At age 19, Hassrick has established herself as a rising athlete in ski jumping, recognized for her discipline, composure, and competitive focus.
“Estella embodies everything Widex stands for,” said Alan Raffauf, Head of Brand Marketing, Widex. “Her confidence, authenticity, and refusal to let hearing loss define her limits make her an inspiring athlete and a natural match for Widex. She shows young people everywhere that clarity, both in sound and in self, can fuel extraordinary performance.”
Hassrick said her experience with Widex technology has influenced both her training and daily life.
“Widex has elevated how confidently I move through the world, and I’m proud to represent the brand as an ambassador. Since being fitted with Widex Allure™ I train and compete with a new sense of clarity and confidence. For the first time, I can hear my coaches in real time, stay connected with teammates, and focus all my energy on performance instead of straining to hear.”
–Estella Hassrick
Hassrick began skiing at age four and started ski jumping at eight. She has lived with congenital hearing loss since birth, a condition also present in her father and grandfather. While she used hearing aids during school and at home, Widex said traditional devices proved difficult to wear under a ski helmet due to discomfort, feedback, and shifting, leading her to train and compete without them.
Throughout her journey, Hassrick has worked with audiologist Dr. Veronica Heide of Audible Difference, who has supported multiple generations of the family. When Widex Allure became available, Heide identified its combination of sound processing, comfort, and discreet design as well suited for Hassrick’s athletic demands.
“Widex Allure delivers the balance of natural sound quality and adaptive performance that Estella needs,” Dr. Heide said. “It’s rare to see a device that supports both high-level athletic performance and deeply personal daily experiences, with that kind of clarity, flexibility, and confidence.”
With Widex Allure, Hassrick reports being able to comfortably wear hearing aids under her helmet, hear coaching instructions in windy and noisy conditions, and reduce the listening effort previously required during training and competition. She now uses the devices across competition, travel, and everyday environments.

Widex Allure represents the company’s latest hearing technology, featuring the W1 chip and Precision Hearing Technology. The platform is designed to balance speech clarity and environmental awareness while supporting natural sound perception. According to Widex, users preferred the system 4-to-1 compared to their own devices for speech understanding, naturalness, and overall listening experience. Rechargeable receiver-in-canal models include Bluetooth connectivity and a companion app for personalized adjustments.
As Hassrick continues her ski jumping season, including training in Lillehammer and competitions across Europe, Widex said the partnership reflects a shared focus on confidence, accessibility, and performance.
“We’re honored to welcome Estella to the Widex family,” Raffauf added. “Her determination reflects the impact that natural, effortless hearing can have on a person’s life. Together, we look forward to inspiring people of all ages to hear more and live boldly.”
