Massachusetts-based audio giant, Bose, announced late last week that it was officially joining the wireless earbud market. The company unveiled the new SoundSport Free wireless hearable device, which is aimed to compete directly with Apple, Bragi and others.

The new SoundSport Free devices are said to last an impressive 5 hours per charge, placing it among the top in its category. The carrying case, which also acts as a charger, offers up to 2 additional charges for an extra 10 hours of use.

Bose SoundSport Free Features

According to the company’s press release, the new SoundSport Free devices have been designed with the active user in mind. The earbuds house a new antenna system that provides a stronger and more reliable wireless connection, claiming a solid wireless connection up to 30 feet away.

“The SoundSport Free is the closest thing to what people have always wanted in a sport headphone – a technology-packed solution that’s stripped down to just two rugged earbuds that feel great, stay connected, stay in, and sound amazing.” Brian Maguire, Director, Bose on-the-go products

In addition to hands-free calling and music streaming, the SoundSport Free also works with the Bose Connect App (available for Android and Apple phones) to personalize the settings and also offers a “Find my buds” feature to help you track your misplaced earbuds.
