LEIDEN/AMSTERDAM – Golden Hearing (GH) and Absolute Audio Labs (AAL) have announced that GH’s music enhancement technology is now available as a plugin on the PYOUR Audio development framework from AAL. This integration allows hearing aid manufacturers to more easily incorporate music-focused features into their products.
Golden Hearing, based in Amsterdam, is a technology company with roots in the Leiden University Medical Center. The company specializes in developing tools that enhance music enjoyment for individuals with hearing loss. GH’s innovations include the Golden Hearing Music Perception Test (GHMPT) and the AM Booster, an amplitude modulation enhancement algorithm that can be tuned via the GHMPT or other audiogram-based fitting systems.
Absolute Audio Labs, based in Leiden, is a two-time CES Innovation Award recipient recognized for its advancements in hearing enhancement. AAL developed the PYOUR Audio 3.0 algorithm suite and framework with interoperability in mind, aiming to support a range of audio technologies. Music enjoyment has been a core focus for AAL, as highlighted in a recent comparison study of receiver-in-canal (RiC) hearing aids.

PYOUR Audio 3.0 is compatible with both 24-bit and 32-bit chipsets, supports full-spectrum music reproduction from 20Hz to 20kHz, and allows for microphone sampling rates up to 48kHz—making it suitable for high-definition audio applications, including live music events.
In May, AAL and GH will launch live demos of the plugin integration using a specially developed audio interface. These will be followed by new RiC reference designs, to be released this summer by AAL in partnership with Renesas Electronics.
