LEIDEN, NETHERLANDS & CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA – Absolute Audio Labs (AAL) and Aizip have announced the integration of Aizip’s AI-based noise reduction technology into AAL’s PYOUR Audio development framework. This collaboration enables prescription and OTC hearing aid manufacturers to incorporate advanced AI-driven speech and noise separation features, improving audibility in challenging listening environments.

AI-based noise reduction has traditionally been used in cloud-based applications, such as online meetings, where processing resources are abundant. Its application in hearing aids has so far been limited to high-end models with custom neural processors. With this integration, AAL and Aizip aim to make effective AI noise reduction widely accessible across a broader range of devices, including mid-range hearing aids, to better support individuals who struggle to understand speech in noisy settings.

Platform-Agnostic Hearing Aid Solution

AAL’s PYOUR 3.0 audio platform is designed for flexibility and compatibility with standard 24-bit and 32-bit SoCs. It delivers high-quality audio, strong speech intelligibility, and reliable wireless connectivity. The company’s patented core algorithms include advanced acoustic noise suppression, Instant Wide Band Compression (iWBC), and AI-based feedback management.

By incorporating Aizip’s compact and efficient AI models, the PYOUR framework now allows low-latency AI noise reduction to operate on modern chipsets with integrated neural network processors. This advancement enables hearing aid manufacturers to enhance speech audibility in noise without requiring an additional co-processor.

“AAL already offers a comprehensive hearing aid firmware package that brings high-end features to hearing aids using standard chipsets. Together we will now set the standard for performance in accessible devices across the full range of environments people with hearing loss struggle with.”

–Nathan Francis, Head of Business Development at Aizip

“Speech in noise remains the key problem for people with hearing loss, often leading to social isolation when they withdraw from loud environments,” said Mark Kaal, Business Development and Innovation Director at AAL. “As the leader in the development of high performance, tiny AI models that run at the edge, Aizip challenges conventional notions about what is possible in hearing devices. We are delighted to incorporate their latest speech and noise separation models to improve the lives of millions of people who have trouble hearing in difficult situations.”

AAL and Aizip are committed to addressing the global challenge of untreated hearing loss through the continued development of advanced, accessible hearing technology.
