On September 15, 2025, HIMSA announced the release of Noah System 4.117, a modernized platform with a strong focus on improved security.

“The Noah 4.117 secure platform will serve as the future of Noah System,” said Anders Nielsen, Product Manager at HIMSA. “It will continue to be maintained and modernized in the years to come.”

Despite significant changes to its internal components, the Noah 4.117 interface will remain familiar to users.

“The many security changes in Noah 4.117 are updates and modernizations of core Noah components and processes. This means that Noah 4.117 will look and feel much the same as earlier versions.”

–Anders Nielsen

HIMSA recommends upgrading to this new version, noting important changes for users to be aware of. Most notably, modules designed for NOAH 3 are no longer supported.

Since the release of Noah 4 in 2011, compatibility with NOAH 3 modules had been maintained. However, due to evolving technology and security requirements, this support has now ended.

“Today, security has a much more central role in all PC software,” Nielsen said. “These older modules rely on components no longer supported by Microsoft and cannot meet current security standards.”

As a result, modules designed for NOAH 3 cannot be opened or installed in Noah 4.117. For businesses still relying on these legacy modules, Nielsen suggests considering standalone mode, if supported, to avoid compromising the security of the Noah database.
