Google is expanding LE Audio (Low Energy Audio) support for hearing aids on Samsung Galaxy and Pixel smartphones, aiming to improve audio quality, battery efficiency, and direct Bluetooth connectivity for users. The update enhances hands-free calling and media streaming while eliminating the need for intermediary accessories.

GN Hearing and Oticon Intent to Gain LE Audio Support with Samsung Galaxy S25

Google has confirmed that LE Audio support will be available for GN Hearing (parent company of ReSound, Beltone and Jabra brands) and Oticon Intent hearing aids, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S25. These devices will benefit from next-generation Bluetooth technology, offering improved audio clarity, reduced latency, and extended battery life.

LE Audio Coming Soon to Samsung Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 Devices

Hearing aid presets can now be changed directly from the Android device settings.

Following the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch, Samsung Galaxy S24 devices will also receive LE Audio support in the coming weeks, allowing users to experience enhanced hands-free calling and audio streaming. Additionally, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to gain LE Audio compatibility through an upcoming software update.

Key Benefits of LE Audio for Hearing Aid Users:

  • Direct hands-free calling – Users can answer and make calls directly through their hearing aids without requiring additional accessories.
  • Enhanced audio streaming – Higher-quality audio for music, videos, and phone calls with reduced power consumption.
  • Seamless integration with Android – More stable and reliable connectivity between hearing aids and smartphones.

A Step Forward for Accessibility in Hearing Technology

Google’s LE Audio integration marks a major advancement in Android’s hearing aid compatibility, aligning with broader industry efforts to improve accessibility and user experience. As LE Audio technology becomes more widely available, hearing aid users can expect smoother and more intuitive connectivity across a wider range of Android smartphones.
