STAFA, SWITZERLAND – Phonak has announced the availability of its Audéo Sphere Infinio hearing aid through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD). The device is now accessible to both veterans and active military personnel.
Audéo Sphere Infinio, introduced in August 2024, expands the Infinio platform and features the world’s first hearing aid powered by a dedicated real-time AI chip designed for speech-from-noise separation. The technology offers enhanced speech clarity from any direction by filtering out background noise, helping users communicate more effectively in challenging acoustic environments.
Phonak’s proprietary AI chip, DEEPSONIC™, leverages deep neural network (DNN) processing to distinguish speech from unwanted noise in real time. This advancement marks a first in the hearing care industry and is intended to deliver significantly improved speech intelligibility.
“When military service members receive Phonak hearing aids, they’re not just regaining their hearing—they’re reclaiming their connections to family, friends, and community. Staying connected is essential for mental health and we are committed to reducing isolation and supporting the emotional well-being for those who bravely serve.”
–Nicholai Dessypris, President, North America, Hearing Instruments at Sonova Group
As of May 2025, the full Phonak Infinio portfolio is now available through Government Services, including Roger V3, Virto I-Titanium IIC, and Virto I-CIC.
