BALLERUP, DENMARK – GN has introduced the ReSound Enzo IA, described as the world’s smallest rechargeable Super Power hearing aid1. The device is designed for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss and incorporates new sound processing technology aimed at improving speech understanding, particularly in challenging listening environments.

Understanding speech in noisy environments, often due to limited amplification or a reduced Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), remains one of the main challenges for people using Super Power hearing aids. According to GN, the ReSound Enzo IA is designed to address these challenges while maintaining a compact size and rechargeable battery capability.

The device includes advanced noise management features and a feedback management system intended to provide added stable gain for users with severe to profound hearing loss.2

“At GN, we’ve engaged deeply with people facing severe to profound hearing loss to understand what  truly makes a difference for them. With ReSound Enzo IA you can have it all – we’re empowering  people to access the sounds that matter most, enabling them to participate confidently in  conversations and stay connected with loved ones, without having to accept compromises in terms of  size or battery life”

–Peter Justesen, President, Hearing division at GN

ReSound Enzo IA utilizes a specialized 360 chip that processes environmental sounds in real time, using machine-learning artificial intelligence allowing the device to classify and adapt to different  acoustic environments for the best all-round listening experience.3 This approach, which GN calls  Intelligence Augmented™ (IA), works by analyzing surrounding sounds and adjusting settings  accordingly, reducing the cognitive effort typically required for people with severe to profound hearing  loss to navigate complex listening situations.

“In noisy environments, Clear Focus, the hearing industry’s most narrow beamformer4, spotlights speech in front and eliminates distractions, resulting in a 93% preference for hearing in noise for Super Power users, and a significant 2.7 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio improvement over legacy devices5,” the company stated.

The hearing aid delivers up to 28 hours of battery life on a single charge, or 20 hours when streaming media for half the day. It supports Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) Audio and Auracast™ broadcast audio, enabling access to public audio broadcasts via the ReSound Smart 3D™ app.

Helen Cherry, a ReSound Enzo IA user, added: “These life changing hearing aids have transformed my world; without them, I wouldn’t hear anything. Seemingly small technological advancements represent significant improvements that greatly enhance the daily lives of those of us with severe to profound hearing loss. ReSound Enzo IA has enriched my entire auditory experience in ways I never thought possible.”

The ReSound Enzo IA and its Beltone equivalent, the Beltone Boost Max S, will be available in the US and Germany starting August 21, with additional markets to follow.
