BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA – GN has announced that ReSound Vivia, its AI-powered hearing aid featuring Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio, is now available to veterans through Department of Veterans Affairs audiology clinics and care sites nationwide.

Originally launched in the U.S. in February, ReSound Vivia is designed to offer enhanced sound clarity in noisy environments along with comfort and all-day power. The device features a Deep Neural Network (DNN) chip trained on 13.5 million spoken sentences, developed to improve speech understanding by spotlighting speech and reducing background noise.

AI-Based Sound Processing Tailored for Complex Environments

The new Intelligent Focus feature combines a four-microphone binaural beamformer and DNN-powered noise reduction. This system allows users to activate AI-enhanced support in challenging sound environments.

The chip performs up to 4.9 trillion operations per day and is designed to integrate seamlessly with the wearer’s perception of their environment.

“Veterans often times have unique and challenging hearing needs. ReSound Vivia takes hearing speech-in-noise to the next level by tapping into the power of artificial intelligence, while still giving control to the person wearing them to make those listening decisions. It’s not just about amplifying sound. It’s about intelligently enhancing the sounds that matter most.”

–John Pettus, VP of Government Services, ReSound

The microRIE model delivers up to 30 hours of use on a single charge, and 20 hours with typical Intelligent Focus and streaming use. Despite its compact size, the device includes all-day battery support and connectivity features.

Expanded Access to Broadcast Audio with Auracast

ReSound Vivia supports Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast, enabling users to access broadcast audio streams in public environments such as airports, theaters, and arenas. GN is also introducing the first hearing aid app with an integrated Auracast Assistant, enabling single-tap connection through the ReSound Smart 3D™ app, including for devices without native Auracast support.

The ReSound Vivia portfolio for VA patients includes the microRIE rechargeable model and two non-rechargeable receiver-in-ear (RIE) models, including a CROS variant, available in multiple colors—including new Navy Blue and Red options.
