STRUER, DENMARK – The SoundTech Accelerator Program, hosted by Sound Hub Denmark, has drawn unprecedented global interest, with 90 international sound startups from 37 countries applying for the 2025 cohort—nearly double the number of applications received last year.

The increase in applications reflects growing industry recognition of the accelerator’s value, with nearly half of applicants citing recommendations from past participants, the Sound Hub network, or industry referrals as their motivation for applying.

Emerging Trends in Sound Technology

Startups applying for this year’s program represent a diverse range of sound technology innovations, including medical devices, hearing aids, learning tools, mental health applications, studio and live sound equipment, sound design tools, artist matchmaking platforms, and noise reduction solutions.

“We are excited by this year’s high level of professionalism and maturity among applicants. It’s inspiring to see an increasing interest from innovators harnessing sound AI across diverse areas from Health- and MedTech to MusicTech – with a shared focus on improving life and work conditions.”

–Peter Petersen, CEO of Sound Hub Denmark

Several notable trends have emerged from this year’s applications. MusicTech startups accounted for 38% of applicants, focusing on sound design tools, live performance equipment, and creative industry matchmaking platforms—many of which operate as software-first companies. Additionally, over one-third of applicants are integrating AI technology into their solutions, highlighting a continued shift toward AI-driven sound applications.

HealthTech and environmental sound solutions also saw strong representation, comprising 23% of applications, with startups developing technologies aimed at hearing enhancement and noise reduction.

Program Selection & Support for Startups

Only 10% of applicants will be selected for the SoundTech Accelerator Program, with selected startups receiving mentorship, business development support, and access to cutting-edge testing facilities. Those not selected are still encouraged to engage with the Sound Hub community through networking opportunities, workspace access, and specialized industry matchmaking.

Startups participating in the program gain technical product support, industry insights, and strategic guidance to help refine their market approach. The accelerator consists of a hybrid format, featuring both on-site camps in Denmark and online sprints to ensure startups receive tailored support.

Testimonials from past participants highlight the program’s impact:

“They really care about what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and they strategically help us identify which parts of the business we need to focus on.”

“We applied for the SoundTech Accelerator Program because Sound Hub Denmark is embedded in the sound industry ecosystem. We knew this would be a highly valuable program, offering industry expertise, mentorship, and advice from not just the Sound Hub community, but also industry players keen to support startups.”

“What impressed me the most was that we didn’t have to sit behind our laptops during the program. We were encouraged to go out and engage with the industry.”

Selection Process & Next Steps

Nine startups were selected for the 2025 SoundTech Accelerator Program following an extensive review process. More than 50 interviews were conducted to evaluate the alignment of each startup’s market potential, product innovation, problem-solving focus, competitive edge, and scalability.

A final shortlist of 12 was established in December, with the Selection Board making final rankings in January. The selected startups have already met online and will convene in Denmark for the first in-person camp in early March.
