EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA – As part of Better Hearing Month, Starkey has announced a collaboration with LG aimed at improving home entertainment accessibility for individuals with hearing loss through Auracast™ audio streaming technology. With the launch of LG’s 2025 OLED and QNED evo televisions, hearing aid users can stream audio directly to their devices, offering a more personalized listening experience.
Television audio has long been a common challenge for hearing aid users, particularly in shared listening environments. Auracast and LE Audio—developed as the next generation of Bluetooth technology—allow for higher quality streaming and the ability to broadcast audio to multiple users simultaneously.
With this integration, users of Starkey hearing aids equipped with Edge AI technology can stream sound from compatible LG TVs using an Android phone with LE Audio, without the need for additional accessories. This enables hearing aid users to control their own volume settings independently of other viewers.
