MILAN, ITALY — Amplifon announced it has received two international awards in design and user experience, with recognition from the UX Design Awards and the iF Design Awards for its OtoKiosk digital audiometer and Amplifon App. The solutions were developed by AmplifonX, the company’s research and development division.
The UX Design Award was presented to OtoKiosk in the Product category. The iF Design Award was awarded to the Amplifon App in the Digital Media Interface category, and to OtoKiosk in the Health and Wellness User Experience category.
OtoKiosk is an iPad-based application developed by Amplifon that enables high-precision audiometric testing in environments such as events, shopping centers, and pharmacies. The solution incorporates artificial intelligence technologies, including multilingual avatars that guide users through the test and predictive algorithms designed to improve accuracy and efficiency. It is patented and certified by CE and the FDA, and provides an immediate initial assessment of hearing health.
The solution was also presented to the European Parliament as part of the “Hear the Future” initiative, where it was used for screening and raising awareness of hearing loss prevention.
The Amplifon App serves as a digital hub for hearing health, extending beyond hearing aid management to support users throughout their care journey. The app is now available to a broader audience, offering smartphone-based audiometric screening and access to educational content on hearing health and prevention.
Among its features is a 24-hour virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence. The app is currently available in 11 countries, including the United States, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand.
The UX Design Awards, established by the International Design Center Berlin, recognize products and services that address real-world needs through user-centered design. The iF Design Award is a global competition that highlights excellence in design and innovation across industries.
Amplifon said the recognition reinforces its position in the hearing healthcare sector and reflects its focus on developing digital solutions designed to improve quality of life. The company noted that AmplifonX collaborated with Design Group Italia, part of Alkemy+, in the development process.
