STRUER, DENMARK — SoundInvest, the investment company affiliated with Sound Hub Denmark, has announced the first close of its second venture fund, securing €2.9 million (approximately DKK 21 million) in commitments to support early-stage companies developing technologies involving sound, acoustics, and hearing.

The new fund, SoundInvest Fund II, includes investments from existing backers Færchfonden and Vald. Birn Holding, alongside new investor Bang & Olufsen, the Danish audio technology company. SoundInvest is targeting a total fund size of €4 million, with additional investors being sought to complete the remaining €1.1 million.

The investment initiative is intended to help emerging sound technology companies access early-stage financing, technical expertise, and industry connections through Sound Hub Denmark’s international startup ecosystem.

Supporting Innovation in Sound and Hearing Technology

SoundInvest focuses on companies where sound is central to the product or the problem being addressed. Its investment scope includes music technology, audio infrastructure, hearing-related applications, and other areas where acoustic technologies play an important role.

Under the new fund, SoundInvest plans to make 24 investments of DKK 1 million each, structured as convertible loans. Every startup accepted into Sound Hub Denmark’s SoundTech Accelerator receives an investment from the fund.

The organization frequently serves as a company’s first institutional investor, providing financial support alongside access to product development resources, specialized facilities, and industry expertise.

“We come from the industry ourselves. That is why we can spot the right soundtech start-ups earlier than investors who don’t know sound, and we can help them far more once we have invested”

–Michael Rohde Böwadt, CEO of SoundInvest

Bang & Olufsen’s participation brings another established audio industry company into the investment initiative, potentially expanding connections between emerging technology developers and established manufacturers.

Building on Investments in 22 Startups

SoundInvest’s first fund, launched in 2023, invested €2.2 million across 22 companies from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, Sweden, and Denmark.

The portfolio spans music technology, health technology, and audio infrastructure, reflecting the broad range of applications supported by Sound Hub Denmark.

According to the organization, four companies from the initial fund have converted their loans into equity and subsequently secured additional financing from outside investors.

Among them are India’s Backyard Creators, which raised $600,000 in 2025, and Berlin-based Just 4 Noise, which secured $1 million in February 2026.

The second fund builds on that activity, with a goal of expanding investment opportunities for companies developing new sound-based products and services.

Sound Hub Denmark Expands Its Startup Ecosystem

Founded in 2019 and based in Struer, Denmark, Sound Hub Denmark provides an international environment for companies developing audio and acoustic technologies.

Its facilities include laboratories, testing and measurement resources, coworking spaces, and access to specialists across the sound technology industry.

The organization reports having supported approximately 80 international startups through its SoundTech Accelerator since its establishment. Additional companies have used its technical facilities and development resources outside the formal accelerator program.

“Bang & Olufsen joining the fund is a strong signal that we are attracting sought-after innovators. Nowhere else in the world will you find such a concentration of music- and soundtech expertise and start-ups with access to capital and networks,” said Peter Petersen, CEO of Sound Hub Denmark.

For companies working in hearing technology, the accelerator’s combination of funding, acoustic research facilities, and industry connections may provide resources for advancing products from early development toward commercialization.

The initiative also illustrates the growing overlap between consumer audio technology, hearing healthcare, and other sound-based applications.

Applications Open for 2027 Accelerator

Sound Hub Denmark is currently accepting applications for its 2027 SoundTech Accelerator cohort, with a deadline of November 6, 2026.

The program is open to international startups developing products or solutions in which sound plays a central role. Accepted companies receive an investment from SoundInvest and access to the accelerator’s business development resources and technical network.

Meanwhile, SoundInvest continues to seek investors for the remaining €1.1 million needed to reach its €4 million Fund II target. The organization is particularly interested in participation from individuals, companies, and foundations with experience in music, health, hearing, defense, and related sound technology fields.

More information about the accelerator and application process is available at Sound Hub Denmark.
