LONE TREE, COLORADO — Cochlear announced that its Nucleus® Nexa® System is now available to eligible U.S. military veterans receiving care through Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinics nationwide.

The availability of the Nucleus Nexa System provides veterans with hearing loss access to Cochlear’s newest cochlear implant technology, which the company describes as designed to support more connected and adaptable hearing experiences.

The Nucleus Nexa System is described by Cochlear as the world’s first smart cochlear implant system.1,* The system includes upgradeable firmware and internal memory and, when paired with the Power Compact rechargeable battery, is offered as the smallest and lightest sound processor with all-day battery life currently available, according to the company.2,3,#

When used with the Nucleus 8 Nexa or Kanso® 3 Nexa sound processors, the system is designed to automatically adjust performance in response to changing listening environments.

Streaming from compatible devices may reduce battery life. All-day hearing is defined as 16 hours. This feature is only compatible with CI1000 implants.
