EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA — Starkey announced a series of connectivity enhancements for its Omega AI hearing technology platform, including an Auracast assistant, Google Fast Pair support, and a Push to Talk feature. The updates are designed to simplify shared audio access, streamline device pairing, and expand communication options for hearing aid users.

“Innovation starts with building intelligent platforms that can continuously evolve. We designed Omega AI from the ground up to incorporate advanced AI, Bluetooth LE Audio, and an intelligent software architecture, enabling innovations like Auracast assistant, Google Fast Pair, and Push to Talk, and setting a new standard for seamless, future-ready connectivity in hearing technology.”

–Achin Bhowmik, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer of Starkey

Auracast assistant expands access to shared audio

A key addition is Starkey’s Auracast assistant, which expands access to Auracast™ broadcasts. Through the My Starkey app, compatible smartphones can tune into Auracast streams directly to hearing aids, start or stop broadcasts, adjust streaming and microphone levels, and select alternate languages when available.

The company said the feature is intended to support shared audio in public settings such as airports, gyms, houses of worship, theaters, and event venues.

Google Fast Pair enables one-tap setup on Android

Omega AI devices now also support Google Fast Pair, enabling compatible Android users to pair hearing aids with a single tap. The feature detects nearby devices and is intended to reduce setup complexity for everyday connectivity.

Push to Talk adds direct voice messaging between users

Starkey also introduced Push to Talk, which the company describes as an industry-first feature. Push to Talk allows a user wearing Omega AI 24 hearing technology to send a voice message directly to another Omega AI 24 wearer. The function can be programmed as a double-tap control through Starkey’s Smart Assistant, providing a hands-free communication option.

According to Starkey, the combined updates are intended to enhance Bluetooth LE Audio functionality and expand real-world connectivity use cases for hearing aid wearers.
