BALLERUP, DENMARK — GN announced the global launch of version 2.3.1 of its fitting software, introducing integration of NAL-NL3, a new hearing aid prescription formula developed by the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL).
According to GN, the updated software is designed to give hearing care professionals additional tools to support more precise, consistent, and personalized hearing aid fittings.
New Fitting Tools for Hearing Care Professionals
NAL-NL3 is described as the next generation of hearing aid prescription formulas and is intended to support evidence-based fitting practices. GN said the integration is now available within its updated fitting software, allowing clinicians to access the formula directly during fittings.

The company also said the software includes enhanced AutoREM (Real-Ear Measurement), which is intended to help verify that hearing aid output matches an individual user’s ear acoustics for a more accurate fitting experience.
“We are incredibly excited that GN introduces the first fitting software to integrate NAL-NL3,” commented Brent Edwards, Director of the National Acoustic Laboratories.
“This will enable hearing care professionals to harness the full power of our cutting-edge prescriptive formula, providing their patients with the most precise and personalised sound experience possible. It truly elevates the standard of care.”
Global Release Across Multiple Platforms
GN said the new software became available worldwide starting March 11, 2026 through the release of ReSound Smart Fit™ 2.3.1, Beltone Solus Max™ 2.3.1, and Hearing Australia Fitware 2.3.1.
Andreas Anderhov, Regional President of Asia-Pacific for GN Hearing, highlighted the rollout of the platform in Australia.
“This launch underscores GN’s commitment to innovation built through partnership and clinical evidence. We are proud that the very first fitting with NAL-NL3 successfully has taken place at a Hearing Australia Clinic, the largest provider of government-funded hearing services in Australia. This achievement demonstrates our dedication to people-centred innovation.”
