ISELIN, NEW JERSEY – Signia today announced that its CIC Rechargeable Custom IX, Silk IX, and Active Pro IX hearing aids are now available to audiologists within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), as well as the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Indian Health Service (IHS). The expansion extends the company’s Integrated Xperience (IX) platform, offering a broader range of custom and instant-fit hearing solutions.
With these additions, the Signia IX portfolio available to VA audiologists now spans custom devices, instant-fit options, and traditional RIC and BTE styles. The unified platform is designed to support consistent workflows, allowing clinicians to select the appropriate form factor for each patient without changing systems or processes.
“At Signia, we are committed to supporting VA, DoD, and IHS audiologists with solutions that reflect how care is actually delivered – at scale, under time constraints, and across diverse patient needs,” said Sheena Burks, AuD, Chief Clinical Officer at WS Audiology.
“With this expansion of the IX portfolio in the VA channel, audiologists can now fit both custom and instant-fit solutions within a single platform, giving them greater flexibility, including same-day fitting options, without adding complexity or compromising on clinical performance.”
A Platform Designed for Clinical Efficiency and Real-World Conversations
The IX platform is powered by RealTime Conversation Enhancement, which has been shown to deliver a 22% improvement in speech understanding in noisy group conversations compared to leading competitors.[1] The technology is intended to support communication in complex listening environments, such as group settings commonly encountered in daily life.
New IX portfolio additions available to VA audiologists include:
- CIC Rechargeable Custom IX – A custom device combining individualized fit with rechargeability
- Silk IX – A rechargeable instant-fit solution designed for discretion, fitting 9 out of 10 patients without earmold impressions
- Active Pro IX – A rechargeable, connectivity-focused device with a consumer-oriented form factor
Instant-fit solutions may reduce the need for earmold impressions, helping streamline fittings and enabling same-day care in high-volume clinical environments.
Together, these devices allow audiologists to tailor fittings based on patient needs—whether prioritizing discretion, connectivity, tinnitus management, or fully customized solutions—while maintaining a consistent workflow across the platform.
“All patients don’t fit into a single form factor – but audiologists shouldn’t have to change platforms to meet every need,” Burks added.
“By bringing custom and instant-fit solutions together within the IX platform, we’re helping audiologists spend less time navigating processes and more time focused on delivering care – within a single, consistent workflow.”
Signia IX represents the company’s fourth-generation hearing aid platform available through the VA channel, providing continuity for audiologists already familiar with the system.
