BLUFFDALE, UTAH — Listen Technologies and Ampetronic have appointed Maryland-based SKMac as their manufacturer’s representative for the Mid-Atlantic United States and New York Metro market, expanding regional sales and support for the companies’ assistive listening and accessible audio technologies.
SKMac will represent the companies’ portfolio of assistive listening solutions, including hearing loop systems, ListenIR, ListenRF, ListenTALK, ListenWIFI, and Auri, the companies’ Auracast™ broadcast audio-based system.
The appointment comes as venues increasingly explore accessible audio technologies to meet assistive listening requirements and provide more flexible listening options for visitors.
Expanding Mid-Atlantic Sales and Support
Founded in 1926, SKMac is a manufacturer’s representative firm serving the professional audio, video, lighting, musical instrument, and security markets. Its territory includes New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

The company will provide regional sales, customer service, and technical support for consultants, distributors, integrators, and venue operators working with Ampetronic and Listen Technologies products.
“New York City and the Mid-Atlantic territories drive assistive listening standards across the globe,” said Stephen Robinson, Eastern U.S. regional sales manager, Ampetronic | Listen Technologies. “SKMac brings a modern approach and the attention to detail necessary to support our valued customers and mutual growth throughout these important territories. We’re excited to work with SKMac to meet the needs of local consultants, distributors, integrators, and venue operators.”
Growing Demand for Accessible Audio
Assistive listening systems are designed to improve access to clear, intelligible audio in public and commercial spaces. While these systems are particularly important for people with hearing loss, they can also help listeners in environments affected by background noise, distance, poor acoustics, distractions, or language differences.
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 1.5 billion people globally live with some degree of hearing loss. That figure is projected to reach nearly 2.5 billion by 2050.
Newer wireless technologies are also expanding the ways venues can deliver audio to visitors. Among them is Auracast™ broadcast audio, which allows compatible audio streams to be broadcast to Auracast-enabled personal devices or dedicated receivers.
Ampetronic and Listen Technologies introduced Auri as an Auracast-based assistive listening system designed for use in venues and other public environments. The technology can be deployed alongside established assistive listening approaches, including hearing loops, infrared, and radio-frequency systems.
“We are incredibly excited to be representing Listen Technologies in the Mid-Atlantic and New York Metro markets,” said Jason Drayer, one of the principals of SKMac. “Their reputation as a global leader in assistive listening technology aligns perfectly with our goal of partnering with best-in-class brands in commercial AVL. We look forward to years of shared success.”
