EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA — Starkey announced the conclusion of the recent Joint Defense Veterans Audiology Conference (JDVAC), highlighting the company’s ongoing focus on supporting the hearing health of U.S. veterans and the hearing professionals who serve them.
As the only American-owned hearing aid manufacturer, Starkey says it remains focused on developing technologies designed to meet the needs of veterans and active-duty service members.
The company’s participation at JDVAC emphasized its collaboration with audiologists working within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DOD), with a focus on technologies intended to support clinical care and improve patient outcomes.
Omega AI and Technology Developments
Among the technologies highlighted at the conference was Omega AI, Starkey’s artificial intelligence-based hearing platform. According to the company, the technology is designed to enhance sound processing, improve speech understanding, and support a range of health and wellness-related features, enabling hearing professionals to deliver more personalized care.
Starkey also noted its integration of Auracast broadcast audio technology, which allows compatible devices to connect directly to audio broadcasts in public venues such as airports, theaters, and places of worship.
Custom Hearing Technology
The company also emphasized its longstanding involvement in custom hearing technology. Starkey notes that it helped establish the category decades ago, focusing on product sound quality, precision fit, durability, and rechargeability.
Today, that work continues with Starkey’s fifth generation of custom rechargeable devices, designed to provide discreet, precision-fit solutions while supporting sound performance, comfort, and reliability.
“Our Veterans deserve the very best in hearing healthcare. JDVAC provides an important opportunity to connect with the audiologists serving those who have served our country. We are proud to stand alongside them with innovations that support clinical excellence and help Veterans stay connected to the people and moments that matter most.”
–LTC Dustin Snare, MBA, CPIM, Managing Director of Government Services at Starkey
Industry Engagement
Following the conference, Starkey said it is continuing engagement with clinicians through educational events and training programs. The company recently hosted a National Symposium in Orlando, bringing hearing professionals together for hands-on learning and collaboration around developments in hearing technology.
More information about Starkey’s educational events can be found on the company’s website.
Starkey also noted that its support of the military and veteran community extends beyond hearing technology. The company participates in the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program, which supports service members, veterans, and their families through employment opportunities, community engagement, and partnerships.
