A free guide to hearing aid maintenance

WASHINGTON, DC–The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) has unveiled its latest consumer e-Guide, Your Guide to Care and Maintenance of Hearing Aids. Authored by Drs. Ron Schow and Jeff Brockett, the comprehensive, 26-page e-Guide covers topics such as batteries, ear wax, ear mold/venting issues, moisture corrosion and intermittence, telephone use, feedback, static/noise, and prevention. The information is available on both the BHI web site and as a downloadable PDF.

Schow is professor of audiology at Idaho State University (ISU), where he has taught since 1975. He completed his PhD dissertation under the direction of Dr. Raymond Carhart, widely known as “the father of audiology,” at Northwestern University in 1974. He is co-editor of Introduction to Audiologic Rehabilitation, now in its 5th edition.

Brockett is an associate professor and audiology program director at Idaho State  University., where he earned his doctorate in educational leadership: instructional design from ISU.
