WASHINGTON, DC—Andy Bopp has been promoted to the position of executive director of the Hearing Industries Association (HIA). Carole Rogin, who will remain president of HIA, said that Bopp, who has been director of government relations for the past decade, will assume responsibility for HIA’s regulatory and statistical programs and other special member initiatives.

In announcing the appointment, Rogin said, “Andy has done an outstanding job over the past 10 years and truly earned this expanded role. As director of government relations, he elevated HIA’s presence and effectiveness both on Capitol Hill and within the industry.”  She cited the creation of HIA’s HearPAC, the unification of hearing healthcare advocates through the Hearing Aid Tax Credit Coalition and Friends of the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus, and the strengthening of HIA relations with advocacy and professional provider organizations in hearing health.

Rogin, who has been chief administrator of the hearing industry’s national trade association for more than 25 years, will continue to provide strategic direction for the organization and management of HIA’s marketing efforts through the Better Hearing Institute (BHI) and its market research commitment through MarkeTrak, the next phase of which will be launched early in 2014.
