Satellite Tele-Audiology Solutions, part of the Inventis company, is said to be the first technology of its kind. This “allows the audiologist to interact and remotely perform complete hearing assessments on their patients in real time. There is no waiting or automatic testing, nor do facilitators need to be involved”.
According to the company’s press release, Satellite tele-audiology solutions offers a safe and effective way to provide hearing testing services while remaining physically distant.
With the recent COVID-19 challenges, it has made the task of in-person testing even more difficult for hearing care professionals. Satellite tele-audiology solutions is a remote hearing care solution designed to keep the patient and audiologist safe.
Remote Audiometry Solution
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on hearing healthcare practices, as well as those with hearing loss around the world. Social distancing has made it extremely difficult to diagnose patients accordingly and provide them with the support needed.
Satellite tele-audiology solutions, “has taken these issues into account and we are pleased to present the first real-time remote diagnostic audiometric solution”.
“Satellite tele-audiology solutions, gives you the ability to perform a full audiometric test (air conduction, bone conduction and speech) as if you and your patients were sitting in your clinic. Our solution allows your patients to take a hearing test at home or in other settings outside of your clinic while you are still in control.”
The ANSI-certified audiometer with an embedded audio-video platform gives the professional the control needed to interact, while testing and still maintaining social distancing with your patient. The testing software has a built in video conferencing system (via App) that helps make it easy for the patient to be tested.
The company says it makes testing “even easier with our four-step process”:
- Step 1 – Get your Satellite kit and deliver it to directly to your patient. Our Satellite kit includes:
- A tablet configured with satellite conferencing and diagnostic App
- A satellite certified audiometer (ANSI S3.6)
- A pair of insert earphones or headphones, bone vibrator (available, but optional)
- Step 2 – Start the diagnostic software on your computer and connect to your patient via the conferencing App installed on the tablet
- Step 3 – Instruct your patient on how to wear transducers and conduct the test remotely
- Step 4 – Save the exam results directly on your clinic’s patient database
