PHILADELPHIA—Are you someone whose hearing aids have helped you lead a happier, more rewarding life? Or, have they improved the life of your spouse, parent, or other loved one? If so, your story might win a prize in a national contest announced this week by SecondSense Hearing Solutions.

SecondSense created the Sweet Sounds of Life Contest to draw attention to how people have reconnected to their lives with the help of hearing aids. Entrants are invited to share, in 500 words or fewer, how a hearing instrument has impacted their lives or the lives of loved ones in a positive way. Contest entries must be submitted by August 31, 2011.

The three winners will receive a Kindle™ 3G + Wi-Fi Reader with 6-inch display, a Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, plus a $150 gift card for Kindle book purchases. The form and instructions for entering the Sweet Sounds of Life Contest are available at www.SecondSenseHearing.com/contest.

SecondSenseHearing.com was created by American Hearing Aid Associates (AHAA) as an online hearing healthcare resource for consumers. Tina Soika, president of AHAA, noted, “Our audiologists have shared with us for many years wonderful and touching stories about how their patients reconnected to life after receiving hearing devices. For our contest, we want to hear these stories directly.”

Those entering the contest can choose any or all of the three themes for their written submissions:

1. How a hearing instrument has benefited your life.

2. How a hearing instrument has benefited the life of a loved one.

3. How upgrading or replacing an older hearing instrument has benefited your life or that of a loved one.

In each theme category, a winner will be selected by a panel of audiologists and other hearing professionals on the SecondSense Hearing Solutions Advisory Board. Winners will be and announced on September 30, 2011. For complete contest rules go to: SecondSenseHearing.com/rules.
