–Virginia Ramachandran, AuD, PhD, VP of Audiology for Oticon, Inc.
Oticon Intent is built to address the fact that individuals have varying listening needs even in identical sound environments. The hearing aid’s user-intent sensors detect when listening demands change and automatically adapt, ensuring access to speech and sounds that support user engagement in all aspects of life.
Expanded Connectivity with Google Fast Pair
The latest Oticon Intent integrates Google’s Fast Pair feature, allowing users to connect their hearing aids to Bluetooth LE Audio-enabled Android devices in seconds with a single tap. This advancement reduces setup time and simplifies the pairing process. Automatic syncing across devices logged into the same Google account streamlines connectivity for users and reduces setup time for hearing care professionals.
The hearing aids are designed to support future technologies, including Auracast™ broadcast audio, ensuring ongoing compatibility as new wireless standards emerge.
Introducing the miniBTE R: Compact Design with Dual Fitting Levels
The new Oticon Intent miniBTE R introduces a rounded, ergonomic design for improved comfort and usability. It supports two fitting levels—85 or 105—enabling professionals to fit a wider range of hearing losses with a single model.
The device is powered by a size 13 lithium-ion rechargeable battery, offering a full day of use* without increasing overall size. Users can accept or end phone calls with a double-tap gesture, accompanied by a discreet audio tone confirming the action. The optional pulsing LED indicator provides visual feedback on device status, while a double push-button offers intuitive tactile control.
The new miniBTE R will be available to U.S. hearing care professionals in November 2025.
Continued Innovation Ahead
Oticon also announced that in January 2026, it will introduce Oticon Zeal™, a new in-the-ear hearing aid style for the U.S. market. Zeal combines discreet design with advanced connectivity, rechargeability, and second-generation AI sound processing, expanding Oticon’s range of personalized hearing care solutions.
